Quick & Easy Instructions

  1. Use a PC (not a Mac) that is hardwired, via a high-speed connection, to the Internet — not on a wireless connection — with IE or Firefox (not Google Chrome)

  2. Install the latest version of Adobe Reader in your computer, but NEVER try to open Under the Clitoral Hood — an .exe. file — with Adobe Reader or while Adobe Reader is open on your computer. REPEAT: Keep Adobe Reader closed while downloading, activating, and reading the eBook

  3. Purchase and download secure eBook

  4. Copy activation key (password) from eBook-download page (or accompanying e-mail) and paste it into the eBook’s activation-key window, located in the document’s top-left corner (CLICK HERE for a graphic)

  5. Open and print eBook.

NOTE #1: If you have download or activation issues, contact me ASAP. If you wait until three weeks or three months after purchase, you’ll get no assistance.

NOTE #2: If you move your eBook to another PC; change your PC’s configuration; or have a system crash after purchase, download, and activation, you must buy a new license.

NOTE #3: If you bought UTCH before July 2011 and try to access it after July 2011, you will get this prompt to update it to newer encryption technology. REMEMBER: PRINT BOOK AFTER PURCHASING IT.
 

 

Detailed Instructions

 
A. Downloading the eBook

NOTE: Your download link will expire after 24 hours. Download the eBook immediately after purchasing it. Once you activate the eBook, it stays in your computer forever.

  1. After completing your purchase, you’ll see a download page with this message: Congratulations! Your transaction was successful.

  2. From this download page, copy the 22-character password and paste to Notepad — this is your activation key. Disregard the username. (you also will receive an e-mail with your password/activation key)

  3. Download the eBook, whose file is called UnderTheClitoralHood_072711.exe. To avoid misplacing it somewhere in your computer, right-click on the “Download Now” link. Then, select Save Target As

  4. When prompted, choose Save file — and save the file to the location of choice on your computer, even on your desktop

  5. After saving and verifying the eBook, click on the “complete your order” link at the bottom of download page — you will see a “thank you” page.

 
B. Activating/Opening the eBook

  1. With your order, via Web page and e-mail, you’ll receive a username and password. DISREGARD the username. All you need is the 22-character activation key.

  2. Initially, when you open the eBook, you’ll be able to view only the sample document (it gives highlights of the eBook). In the top-left corner of this sample document (CLICK HERE for a graphic), you’ll see document title: UTCHsample_021607. Underneath that title are two menu options: eBook and Help.

  3. Click on eBook, thereby invoking a drop-down menu

  4. Click on “Activate eBook.”

  5. You’ll be prompted to enter “My Secure eBook activation key.” In the window provided, paste/enter your 22-character password (activation key).

  6. Click the “activate” key. NOTE: You must be connected to the Internet to open the eBook.

  7. Your eBook will open. It’s a secure, encrypted document, embedded with features of Acrobat Reader. You may think you can use Acrobat Reader to open the eBook, but you cannot do so.

  8. If you use a router-controlled wireless network, you may encounter difficulty opening the eBook and may even see a blank screen. Check your router’s settings. For best results, download this eBook on a computer hardwired to your router (i.e., the one not using a wireless connection).

  9. You can open and print this document as many times as you wish on the computer in which you installed and unlocked it. (I can monitor this usage and deactivate your key if you abuse this privilege — please do not become a printing press for your friends.)

  10. To view/print this eBook on another computer, you must buy another activation key (see Send to a Friend).

C. Send to a Friend

After printing your eBook, feel free to e-mail the .exe file to a friend. He’ll not be able to view or print the eBook, but he will be able to view UTCHsample_021607, which gives highlights of the book.

Once your friend has the .exe file and wants to buy an activation key, he must click on the eBook menu option (top-left corner), where he’ll select “purchase this eBook.” Once there, he’ll be taken to the credit-card page to make his purchase. Or, he can click on the orange “Buy This eBook Now!” button in the top-right corner of the document.

 

Problems?

If you’re having problems opening the eBook (e.g., blank page), maybe:

  • You’re using a Mac (the eBook works only on PCs)

  • You don’t have the current version of Adobe Reader

  • You’re trying to open the eBook with Adobe Reader: don’t do that

  • You have both an old version and a new version of Adobe Reader installed (uninstall and delete the old version)

  • You have both Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader installed (uninstall and delete Adobe Reader)

  • Your firewall prevents communication with the eBook (deactivate firewall while reading/printing eBook)

  • You’ve moved your eBook to another computer, changed your computer’s configuration, or had a system crash since purchase, download, and activation. If so, you must buy a new copy

  • Your computer renamed file to UTCH.asp. You must rename it to UTCH.exe

  • You have problems communicating with your ISP’s server.
